Art Therapy is a mental health profession in which clients, facilitated by the art therapist, use art media, their creative process, and the resulting artwork to explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, developed social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem. —American Art Therapy Association 2016
Many people benefit from art therapy, including those who have survived trauma and abuse, persons with adverse physical health conditions, as well as persons with mental health concerns. Individuals of all ages can benefit from participating in Art Therapy. Artistic self expression and the creative process promotes well-being.
Therapy sessions typically last for 45 to 55 minutes

No, you do not have to make art if you don’t want to. We never force art making onto clients. We are skilled at using a wide variety of therapeutic techniques that do not involve art making.
All of the art that you make belongs to you and is yours to do with what you want. You can take it home, hang it on your fridge, throw it away, tear it up, or put it in a safe place. Any artwork that is left with us is kept safe in your file or in a locked cabinet.
We work with people in almost every age range!
